A three hour Mountain bike score event will be provided (2 hours for novices) on Monday 27th August. Full details and entry form for this event can be downloaded here.
Normal orienteering kites and SI punching will be used. The terrain used for this event will be larger than used for the foot-O and will use an overprinted 1:25000 map covering 88 sq.km
The MBO event at the White Rose is provided by North Yorkshire Mountain Bike Orienteers. Foot-O competitors that want to try the MBO event can hire mountain bikes locally from Big Bear Bikes
The MBO score event on Monday will have starts between 1300 – 1400hrs. Competitors that have not pre-entered for the MBO course will be welcome and will be accommodated subject to map availability at no extra charge.
The terrain is a variety of forest tracks in the forest. Registration will be open from 1230 – 1345hrs with starts 1300 – 1400hrs.
- Fees are seniors £12.00 and juniors/students £6.00
- Full BMBO members deduct £2.00 for insurance
- Associate BMBO members deduct £1.00 for insurance
- British Orienteering members deduct £1.00
- Own SI card – deduct £1.00
- 2 hour course – seniors deduct £1.00; juniors deduct £1
Other requirements
· You must wear a helmet at all times. · You can compete solo or in pairs · Pairs must always stay together and will both carry a SportIdent dibber. · Please show courtesy to local residents and visitors. · At registration you will receive your SI card (if hired) and description list · One minute before you start you will receive a pre-marked, bagged map · There are 30 controls worth 525 points · Please join BMBO (free) on line beforehand and save time and money at registration
