Accommodation

Despite being held over the August Bank Holiday weekend in a popular holiday region,

there are numerous accommodation options available.

Hotels, Guest houses, friendly pubs and B&B’s abound in the Vale of Pickering and Scarborough area, and full details of all the options available can be obtained from Scarborough Tourist Information Office on 01723 383637 or at the Yorkshire Coast Visitors website.

The traditional accommodation choice at the White Rose is, of course, camping and

the event will provide an exclusive campsite in a delightful rural location adjacent to the assembly area and finish. Separate areas will be available for those campers preferring quiet and those wanting to party till (almost) dawn. Book your event camping pitch on the entries page.

Space will be available for tents, caravans and camper vans. The event campsite is near Sawdon (pub and B&B’s), Snainton (pubs and B&B’s)  and Brompton (pub, several cottages and B&B’s).

As far as food is concerned, there are literally hundreds of restaurants in Scarborough but  Alfresco Event Catering will be open in the assembly area for much of the weekend.

Orienteers preferring full service campsites should contact Scarborough Tourist Office or contact direct one of the more prominent serviced sites in the area.

The nearest youth hostel to the event are Lockton 23km, Boggle Hole, 27km and  Whitby 35km.  Book direct with YHA.  More details here.
